Beacon Tarn

The weather had turned cloudy with showers, but mild.

The Team was asked to go to the assistance of a young female who had been walking near Beacon Tarn with a group doing their Duke of Edinburgh Award. She had slipped and injured her knee.

Two land rovers were deployed. The casualty was given pain relief before her leg was splinted. She was stretchered down to the land rover and driven the short stretch to the waiting ambulance for her onward journey to Furness General Hospital.

A total of 14 Team members responded to this incident which took 2 hours.
