Search Dogs

Joy Grindrod & Einich

Search Dog Einich is a former member of Coniston Mountain Rescue Team alongside her handler, team member Joy Grindrod.

Search dogs play an important role in searching for missing hill walkers, and members of the public who go missing in rural areas of Cumbria and neighbouring counties.

Search Dog Einich

Joy has been involved as a mountain rescue team member and dog handler for 30 years. Einich was Joy’s second dog.

It took three years for Joy to train Einich with The Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs where there are 11 other dog teams available to help any team which need assistance.

Coniston MRT Christyne Judge With Search Dog Bute

Christyne Judge is a member of Coniston MRT, and self employed. Her dynamic bitch Bute was born in February 2009, and had some big paws to step into as Christyne has already had a searchdog – Skye , who passed away recently.

Christyne & Bute started formal training in early 2010 and she passed her final assessment in Jan 2011. Now in the Air Scenting Graded Dog Team, Christyne is also an Assessor with the Association.
