Incident 39 of 2021
19/09/21, 11.24am, Hoad Hill, Ulverston, SD296791
It was a drizzly morning when we were asked by DFMRT (Duddon & Furness Mountain Rescue Team) to assist them in a rescue.
Their vehicles were all deployed elsewhere. A lady had fallen near the top of Hoad Hill, above Ulverston, and injured her ankle. NWAS was already in attendance but needed help with evacuation.
Two Land Rovers left the Base and rendezvoused with a couple of members from DFMRT at the start of the climb to the top of the hill, near the Sir John Barrow Monument. All necessary equipment was then taken up to the casualty. Her ankle was splinted and she was stretchered down to the waiting ambulance.
9 members attended this incident which took 2 hrs 40mins.
