Incident 4 of 2024:-
07/01/24, 16.39, Old Man of Coniston, SD276974
While participating in the Incident 3 rescue above, a team member suffered a fall on the steep ground, and injured his knee. We despatched our third Land Rover to the same quarry site and carried up another stretcher and casualty bag while still evacuating the casualty in the previous incident. Our colleague was assessed, some pain relief given, and then he was loaded onto the stretcher for the carry down to another converted ambulance (we have two). After transfer to base, he was assessed by paramedics and then went to Furness General Hospital in a family car.
15 members attended, and this incident lasted 4 hours and 11 minutes.
