Long Service Awards

Past and present members of Coniston MRT were joined by representatives of Mountain Rescue England & Wales (MREW) and The Lake District Search & Mountain Rescue Association (LDSAMRA) on Friday evening to celebrate the presentation of some Long Service Awards.

Presentations were made by John Dempster MBE to John Robinson for 50 years’ service and to Liz Ribchester for 10 years’ service.

A special presentation was made to Anthony (“Robbie”) Robinson MBE who is stepping down from the Team after 61 years. In that time, Anthony has served as both Deputy and Team Leader for 26 and 6 years, respectively, and has attended countless incidents. Although he is retiring from the Team, he remains a well-respected Honorary Vice-President and the Team wishes him well in his “retirement”.
