Incident 32 of 2024:-
11/06/24, 14:16, Dow Crag, SD263977
On a cool and cloudy day, a walker spotted a cragfast sheep in Great Gully on Dow Crag and phoned it in. Cumbria Police asked us to help, and we despatched a small team. We met the informant and looked at his camera photos, allowing us to locate the sheep. It was decided that we would monitor it for a couple of days and, if it had not self-rescued, utilise the full team for a rope rescue at the weekend when it would be weaker and hence safer for the team to rescue.
4 volunteer team members attended for 1 hour and 40 minutes.
