Incident 45 of 2024:-

Heavy rain was forecast for the evening, and it duly arrived. Cumbria Police called us late in the evening about a group of four walkers who had become benighted and were very wet and cold near Low Water, close to the main track for the Old Man of Coniston.
Three Land Rovers were deployed to the highest driveable point, and the team walked up from there. The lost party was located taking refuge in a tent, and given dry clothes and a warm drink. Once all their gear was packed away they were accompanied down the main track, and driven to the Base to warm up before being taken back to their vehicle in the village.
13 volunteer team members attended, and the incident lasted for 3 hours and 15 minutes.
