Grizedale Forest

Incident 47 of 2024:-
03/08/24, 14.36, Grizedale Forest, SD338958
Shortly after Incident 46 had been concluded, North West Ambulance called us out again to assist a male mountain biker who had crashed in Grizedale Forest on one of the bigger forest tracks. This was our third callout in 24 hours. Two Land Rovers were deployed, plus two local members, and we were able to drive right to him. He was suspected as having a few broken bones and he was in a lot of pain, so, after assessment and pain relief, we requested Helimed assistance. We placed him onto our stretcher and drove him out of the forest to a nearby field where Helimed 72 from Manchester could land and fly him to Lancaster for treatment.
14 volunteer team members attended, and the incident lasted for 3 hours and 15 minutes.
