Incident 48 of 2024:-
10/08/24, 20.23, Prison Band, NY275005
It was a pleasant summer evening, but with some cloud around the fell-tops. We were called by Cumbria Police, initially reporting a group of 12 walkers lost on Swirl How, one with cramp. The phonefind function located them on Prison Band. Following a phone conversation it was agreed to allow them to continue down towards Levers Water. Apparently three of the party had already set off down and were able to make their own way back to the village. Three Land Rovers were despatched to Levers Water dam, and the team walked up from there, meeting the group around Swirl Hawse. They were escorted down to Levers Water and driven down to the Rescue Base for warm drinks and some food.
14 volunteer team members attended, and the incident lasted for 3 hours.
