On a cloudy and wet afternoon, North West Ambulance Service asked us to help a man who was feeling dizzy and faint near Low Water. As the team was gathering to deploy from our base, it transpired that the man was feeling better and was being accompanied down the fell by other walkers. Although we had been stood down, the Team Leader rang the caller again, offering assistance to check the gentleman over and transport him back to where their vehicle was parked. However the party was happy to continue as they were, and so the stand down message was sent out.
12 team members attended for 30 minutes, including those who didn’t make it to the Base before being stood down.
