Above Low Water

Incident 41 of 2021

20/09/21, 10.55am, Coniston Old Man, SD275982

It was a cloudy morning with warm sunny intervals.

We were asked by CUMPOL (Cumbria Police) to go to the aid of a lady who had slipped above Low Water, the tarn nestled underneath Coniston Old Man. She had a painful suspected fracture of her wrist.

Three vehicles were deployed and members met up with another team member who had made her own to the casualty. After being given pain relief, the lady was able to walk carefully down to the Land Rovers. The party was driven back to the village and it was agreed she and her partner would make their own way to hospital for further assessment.

The Team would like to thank the passers by who stopped to help.

8 team members attended which took 2hrs 25mins.
