Incident 25 of 2024:-
03/05/24, 12.59, Black Crag, NY340015
On a mild and dry day, a party of 3 had reached the top of Black Crag and began descending, when a man slipped and injured his lower leg. NorthWest Ambulance Service asked us to help, so we drove as close as we could and walked the rest of the way. The man was assessed, pain relief given, leg splint applied and then carried down on our stretcher to his party’s vehicle for transport to Furness General Hospital.
8 volunteer team members attended for 3 hours and 5 minutes. Thank you also to the two gentlemen who were with the casualty, for their assistance during the stretcher carry.
