Incident 29 of 2021:-
14/08/2021, 13.14, Low Water, SD275982
On a mild and cloudy afternoon, a woman coming down the main path from the Old Man of Coniston slipped just above Low Water and bent her ankle. Cumbria Police asked us to help and we despatched three Land Rovers as far as the track permitted and then walked up to the casualty from there. She was assessed, given pain relief, the ankle was re-aligned and splinted, and we then carried her down on our stretcher to Helimed 08 from Blackpool, which had landed at Saddlestone Quarry. They flew her to Furness General Hospital for further treatment.
12 volunteer members attended this incident, which lasted for 2 hours and 45 minutes.
