Old Man of Coniston

Incident 24 of 2024:-

On a warm afternoon, Cumbria Police asked us to investigate an incident where they had been called three times by a mobile phone on the Old Man of Coniston, but were unable to speak with the caller and unable to get an answer to their returned calls. It transpired that a walker’s phone in his pocket was being pressed and auto-dialling 999.
The incident involved 8 team members for 15 minutes before standing down, excluding those travelling to base who turned back.
