Incident 27 of 2023:-

It was hot and sunny for the Lakeland Trails Coniston Marathon, and one competitor succumbed to heat exhaustion in the last few miles. He had fainted and was confused on recovering. The organisers’ medical cover attended and led his treatment, and we were called by North West Ambulance Service to assist in carrying him on our stretcher half a mile to the nearest road. A land ambulance met us there, and he was transferred to Furness General Hospital for further treatment.
9 members attended and the incident lasted 2 hours and 48 minutes.
