Incident 50 of 2023:-
09/10/23, 12.09, Walna Scar track, SD278964
The rain had finally stopped, and a walking group was enjoying a mild autumn day on the Walna Scar track when one of their number experienced chest pains. They phoned for help, and North West Ambulance Service tasked us to help since their land ambulances cannot get up the track. We despatched two Land Rovers and were able to drive to the casualty.
Due to his assessed condition, we requested an air ambulance assist, and were soon joined by Great North Air Ambulance’s Helimed 58 from Langwathby. They took over his care and flew him to Carlisle Hospital.
13 volunteer team members attended for 1 hour and 35 minutes.
