It was a day of sunny intervals and showers when we were asked by NWAS (North West Ambulance Service) to assist a female cyclist who had fallen off her bike and possibly sustained a broken femur, which can be a very serious injury. Our first Land Rover left quickly via Little Langdale and Wrynose Pass, locating the casualty near Cockley Beck. The Air Ambulance paramedics had just landed, so we were stood down as they were able to deal with the incident. This vehicle then returned to assist with a second incident which had come in as we were arriving at Cockley Beck.
This callout involved 11 team members and lasted 1hr 18mins.
