Incident 16 of 2025:-
30/04/25, 10.44, Cumbria Way/Coniston Fells
A man was walking the Cumbria Way and camping en-route. However, contact with him was lost and his partner later called 999. Cumbria Police called for our help, and we had to work hard to narrow the possibilities down. No action due to the lack of details was not a safe option, so we decided to despatch two Land Rovers with small teams to cover ground between his last known point and the edge of our area. LAMRT also agreed to search local cafes and campsites in their patch as the man could be well into their area by then. Those searches were concluding, and further searches with other teams and drones were being planned, when the man’s phone became active again. He was safe and well, and in Keswick, not aware that he was ‘lost’.
10 volunteer team members attended this incident, which lasted for 5 hours.
