Grizedale Forest 24th July 2014 10:59hrs 24/2014
The weather was sunny and very warm.
We were called to the assistance of a gentleman who was suffering a possible heart attack. He had been cycling in Grizedale Forest when he became unwell and started to have breathing difficulties.
A land rover was despatched immediately, followed by a second shortly afterwards. The gentleman was unconscious and very poorly. He was treated by a Community First Responder and Forestry Personnel who were first to arrive, and then members of the team. Paramedics and a doctor from the Ambulance Service and Great North Air Ambulance, stabilised the casualty before he was flown to a nearby Hospital.
12 Team personnel responded to this incident which took nearly 3 hours.
