Incident 4 of 2020:-
24/1/20, 16:22hrs, Levers Hawse, SD270994
It was a foggy evening on the fell tops, and light was fading. Two walkers became unsure of their position and called for help. CUMPOL (Cumbria Police) passed us their details, and we found their location using a system which unlocks their phone’s GPS position. We then despatched two Land Rovers to get us as high up the fell as the old miners’ tracks can take us, and then walked up to the ridge. The pair were found and accompanied down from the hill.
This incident was attended by 16 volunteer team members, and lasted 4hrs 8mins.
