Incident 35 of 2023:-

It was a mild and dry early morning when we received a call from CUMPOL (Cumbria Police) asking us to go to the assistance of a couple on Nettle Crag on the lower slopes of Coniston Old Man. They had lost their way whilst descending from the summit and then became benighted.
One vehicle was deployed with a small party and they were quickly located using torches. On arrival, the couple was given warm clothing and helmets to protect them during their accompanied descent. After being provided with a warm drink at the Base, as well as advice on best practices for fell walking, they left for their accommodation in the village.
