Incident 6 of 2025:-
10/03/25, 17.50, Water Yeat, SD286900
It was a cool but dry late afternoon when North-West Ambulance Service asked us for assistance with the evacuation of a gentleman who had come off his motorbike. Two vehicles were deployed and a couple of members made their own way there. NWAS were already on scene, followed shortly after by paramedics from the Air Ambulance Helimed 08. The Police also were in attendance and had closed the road.
After assessment and pain relief for a number of possible injuries, we packaged him into our Vacuum Mattress (a full body splint). The gentleman was then stretchered up on to the road as he was down an embankment, and taken to the waiting helicopter which had landed a short walk away in a nearby field.
14 Team Members attended and the incident took 2 hrs 10 mins.
